Colour Workshop Sunday 18th October 2026
Colour Mixing and Applied Colour Psychology Workshop
Hosted at my home in South Wales, a colourful, creative environment, this immersive one-day workshop bridges the gap between practical colour theory and applied colour psychology.
Designed to take the guesswork out of colour choices, this day provides hands-on mixing techniques, psychological insights, and creative exercises to help you develop a deeper connection to your palette and communicate colour with a new confidence.
No professional art background required - just a curiosity about colour and a desire to create with intention.
The Core Focus
Mastering Colour Theory & Mechanics: Deconstruct the tonal differences of hues, explore clean colour mixing, and understand how to build balanced, harmonious palettes using complementary, analogous, and tonal relationships.
Applied Colour Psychology (The Wright Theory): Discover how different hues and subconscious tonal qualities trigger emotional responses, affect well-being, and drive visual connection in art and design.
Unlocking Your Personal Aesthetic: Break out of creative ruts by understanding why you are drawn to certain palettes, while learning how to step outside your personal taste to meet client briefs and creative projects objectively.
Playful & Expressive Application: Channel theory into practice by building custom colour papers and mood boards for future projects.
Key Outcomes: What You Will Gain
Enhanced Colour Confidence: A clearer, jargon-free understanding of how to make colour work - including colour pairings, volume, balance, and removing the fear of 'muddy' mixes.
Psychological Know-How: The ability to intentionally use colour to evoke specific emotions and moods in your artwork, graphics, interiors, or brand projects.
Vocabulary for Clients: A shared professional language and robust theoretical framework to comfortably guide, influence, and articulate colour choices to clients.
Faster Decision-Making: Eliminate deliberation and decision fatigue when selecting palettes for your own creative practice or commercial work.
Invigorated Creativity: A collection of custom-mixed swatches, mood boards, and textured papers, along with a refreshed perspective on your unique signature style.
