Commissioning Art

Sometimes it’s as simple as requiring a piece of art that fits with your home; or maybe you’d like to commission a piece that feature your favourite flowers or flowers that remind you of someone. Whatever your reason, commissioning art can be a rewarding, collaborative experience for both yourself and the artist.

Some clients like to be involved in the process more than others and this can be discussed with Andrea at the outset. The process is pretty straightforward and usually takes 3 / 4 weeks.

how it works

Step 1. I suggest looking at my portfolio and pick out some elements that appeal to you from previous work . For example -colours, flowers, different patterns that you like.

Step 2. Contact me to discuss the commission. You can either make an initial enquiry via email or instagram and we can chat about your vision, size, where the art will hang in your home, lead times etc

Step 3. I will then provide initial sketches showing my ideas for the concept and once that is approved I will proceed with the painting.

Step 4. As I proceed with the painting I will send regular updates for you to approve.

Below is an example of a commissioned painting from initial sketch, showing the colour palette and some of the pots that the client had picked out from other paintings, to the finished piece

“I’m absolutely delighted with my art piece from Andrea. I asked her to produce something similar to a piece I’d seen on her website. Andrea was very open to me providing input on how the finished piece would look. I now have a wonderful piece of art that sits above my fireplace that fits in with the colour scheme and aesthetic of the room, and in which I had a hand. I enjoyed the collaboration and would do it again”
